If a consumer states over the phone that they do not want to be contacted via text message any further, you can manually add the cell phone numbers to the Do Not Text list.
Manually Restrict Phone Numbers
To manually add a phone number to the Do Not Text list.
- Go to the Email/Letter/Text tab
- Click on the Texting Restrictions link
- Click the Add Phone Number
- Enter the consumers cell phone number in the Phone Number field.
- Select the restriction parameters to be put in place from the drop-down list as shown below
- Do Not Call OR Text
- Do Not Text
- Do Not Call
- Click Save and Close.
- The number is then added to the list and shown on the Text Restrictions list with the following details:
- Phone number
- Type of restriction i.e. Do Not Call, Do Not Text OR Call, or Do Not Text
- Reference Number - If this number is associated with an account, the reference number will be displayed
- Added - the date the phone number was restricted
- Note - displays how the restriction was put in place and by who.
Edit or Delete Phone Numbers
Once phone numbers have been added to the list, they cannot be edited. If a modification is needed, delete the existing number and create a new one.
To delete a phone number from the Do Not Call or Text list.
- Go to the Email/Letter/Text tab
- Click on the Texting Restrictions link
- Enter the phone number in the Search text box to find the number.
- Once located, click the view link in the far left column of the Numbers gird.
- Click Delete. The system will prompt you to ensure you want to delete the phone number.
- Click OK.
